Qualifications Summary
Mr. Tatsch has four decades of experience in laboratory operations, design and management. His successful career with Mobil Oil Corporation included a variety of assignments, starting as a technician and culminating as Director of an environmental testing laboratory. As a laboratory technician and chemist, Mr. Tatsch gained considerable experience working in a variety of laboratories from radioisotope research laboratories to blast-proof reaction cells to wet chemistry and analytical instrumentation labs. Through this varied experience, he developed a wide range of expertise including: high pressure and toxic gas system design and pipefitting, refinery environmental field projects, installation and sampling of monitoring wells, installation and operation of numerous analytical instruments, laboratory design, health and safety, optimization and management.
Experience
The last eight years of Mr. Tatsch’s career with Mobil were devoted to the management of an environmental laboratory. Starting with a team of twelve people, he expanded operations to a staff of 45, earned certification in nine states, and directed $4 million in analytical testing per year. During this time, he designed and implemented two lab renovations, designed a 20,000 sq. ft. environmental laboratory and a 6,500 sq. ft. combined process/environmental laboratory for the Arabian Gulf.
Mr. Tatsch brings his varied and unique capabilities to CES, Inc. to assist industries involved with laboratory operations. As a lab specialist, Mr. Tatsch has successfully completed a wide variety of laboratory-related projects including: laboratory design, method compliance and optimization, health and safety evaluations, developing chemical hygiene plans and standard operating procedures, OSHA Lab Standard employee training, industrial air monitoring, laboratory ventilation and employee respirator training and fit testing. He has also made numerous visits to Qatar to train laboratory staff, develop environmental methods, institute QA/QC programs and conduct laboratory audits.
